Definition

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency of the U.S. government that regulates broadcast, cable, broadband, wire, and satellite communications. Its regulatory authority extends to aviation for matters involving use of the broadcast spectrum, such as aircraft radios, navigational radios, Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS), radar, transponders, etc.
