Background

The Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) Directed Study identified issues in the development of some minimum vectoring altitudes (MVA). This Safety Enhancement reduces or eliminates TAWS alerts with a new analytical capability that uses a digital elevation model to determine MVAs at prioritized sites identified in the study.
