Background

This Safety Enhancement reduces or eliminates Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) alerts by providing better separation from terrain at identified sites. The SE provides Area Navigation (RNAV) Visual or other procedures that mitigate known TAWS and terrain issues.

TAWS warnings have decreased at all airports being monitored.  CAST will continue to monitor TAWS warnings and work with air carriers to develop RNAV Visual Flight Procedures as needed.
