This Bulletin focuses on the subject providing background information and illustrative examples of recent events. Events 1 and 2 demonstrate how high vertical rates caused RAs which could have been avoided. In event 3 we discuss a case in which a high vertical rate resulted in an RA to which the pilot reacted incorrectly, busting the cleared level by 1500 feet.
