This Regulation amends Commission Regulation (EC) No 1032/2006 by specifying interoperability and performance requirements for ANSPs.

The amendment introduces new requirements concerning the capability of automatic systems for the exchange of flight data to support air-ground data link applications in European airspace in accordance with Commission Regulation No 29/2009. In order to enable the next ATC unit to start exchanging data with the aircraft, where area control centres concerned do not have an in-common data link connectivity service, ANSPs are required to implement automated processes related to logon information and communication with the next control centre.
