The previous versions of EAM 5 / GUI 4 were produced before the approval of ESARR 1 and the entry into force of the SES Regulations. As such, their enactment has necessitated a full review of the document in order to ensure its consistency with this new regulatory material. As a first step in this review process, the SRC has produced this edition of EAM 5 / GUI 4 to include a new table with guidance on the criteria for the assessment of compliance with ESARR 5 for engineering and technical personnel undertaking operational safety-related tasks. This table replaces the former highlevel checklists included in previous versions of the document.
