On 16 May 2019, an Ilyushin Il76 A320 overran the end of the landing runway at Yerevan after completing an ILS approach because the crew hadn’t realised that the available landing distance was reduced at the far end until it was too late to stop. The Investigation noted that it would have been possible to stop the aircraft in the distance available and attributed the lack of flight crew awareness to a combination of their own lack of professionalism and that exhibited by the Dispatcher and to the inadequacy and lack of clarity in the NOTAM communications advising the change.
