Full Title: Integrated Task and Job Analysis of Air Traffic Controllers - Phase 3: Baseline Reference of Air Traffic Controller Tasks and Cognitive Processes in the ECAC Area. This report presents the results from the Air Traffic Controllers' (ATCOs') task analysis conducted in fifteen different Units in European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) States using the Integrated Task Analysis (ITA) methods. The cognitive processes of aerodrome, arrival/departure and en-route controllers are depicted. A new concept, the cognitive profile', was developed in order to allow comparison from the cognitive point of view between the different types of Air Traffic Services (ATS) provision. Additional results on working style, behavioural observation, stress and strain are also provided. Finally, some ideas for potential use of the results in controllers' selection and training, and the development of new ATM system are suggested.
