Santos Dumont Airport serves Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is the city's second major airport after Rio de Janeiro-Galeão International Airport. Located adjacent to the city's downtown.

Climatology

Rio has a Tropical Savanna climate (Köppen climate classification Aw). The temperature occasionally reaches over 40°C in February and maximum daytime temperatures often rise above 30°C all year round. Between December and March there is often very heavy rainfall. The winter months, June to August, are milder with cooler night time temperatures and less rain.
